REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDACY:

Candidates applying for office for the City of Woodville must meet the requirements per Section 141 of the Texas Election Code as shown below:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Be a qualified voter of the City of Woodville for at least six (6) months at the time of filing.
  • Be a resident of Texas for at least one (1) year immediately preceding the election.
  • Not have been determined by a final judgment of a court to be totally mentally incapacitated, or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote. (Texas Election Code)
  • Not have been finally convicted of a felony or if so convicted, have been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities. (Texas Election Code)
